Ryan Braun signs 5 year/$105 million extension
The new contract extends his current contract through the 2020 season. Braun is one of five players in history to hit .300 and have 125 HR in his first four seasons. Braun is a great player and this could turn into an absolute bargain but I don't understand why teams lock players up for 10 year deals. Ten years is a long time especially when you're talking about 162 games per season. What if he gets hurt in a couple years and isn't the player he is now? Not to mention he will be 37 at the end of the contract. It seems like a much bigger risk than reward.
