A Perfect Game?
Have you ever thought about how perfect baseball really is? I know baseball has evolved over time and newer stadiums are built for more home runs but it's kind of crazy how great the game really is. The pitcher stands 60 feet 6 inches away from home plate (18 inches across). The pitcher throws a ball that weighs 5 ounces in which the batter swings a round bat to hit a round ball. The bases are 90 feet away from each other which makes plays close at first and still allows a hitter to leg out an infield single or lay down a bunt and reach safely. The wall dimensions and distance from home plate allow each field to be unique without changing the game (except for a few fields). It is the only sport that the player actually scores and not the ball. It's things like this that make baseball special and something that everyone can appreciate.
