Winning Game One

You have to take a series game by game but winning game one is huge.  Usually game one is your best arm vs. their best arm and if you get to their bullpen early it's even bigger.   Everyone on your team gets a little more confidence and the other team loses a little going in to game two.  Going into a series the main goal is to win the series.  After winning game one you can split the Saturday and Sunday game and still win the series.  Obviously dropping the first game would mean you need to sweep the next two for a series win.  Game one sets the tone for the rest of the series.
